Plastic Cups

At GEM Vending we're extremely keen and we actively promote the Save a Cup Scheme, which provides the ideal disposal of plastic cups from our beverage vending machines. We can arrange to have a purpose-designed collection bin, close by our vending machines for recycling.

Waste & Packaging Recycling

Gem Vending personnel are all instructed to remove all waste and packaging from site during installation and continued servicing. We are committed to recycling in a responsible manner and currently recycle a minimum of 80% of our cardboard packaging and all machine parts. Our recycling policies are reviewed regularly and long standing relationships with our suppliers ensures that we consider and implement any new recycling methods available that are appropriate to our business. In addition, we also offer our experience and advise to suppliers regarding outer packing of products and are working together to minimise waste packaging and utilise recyclable materials wherever possible.

Refurbished Machines

All refurbishing is done by GEM Vending without the use of sub contractors therefore maintaining a full life history, minimising our carbon footprint and providing our customers with the most reliable equipment – both new and refurbished.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

By using our sophisticated route planning and tracking software, we can minimise the amount of mileage our service engineers have to travel by up to 25%. The fuel and time savings are valuable - they help us keep our carbon footprint minimised and also keep our fuel costs in check. 

GEM Vending is always looking for ways to implement new strategies to help the environment. Currently we’re investigating how we can reduce our energy use annually, and reduce our waste (we recycle more than 80% of our cardboard waste and aim to increase this percentage). We also aim to utilise more recycled paper products.
