On Saturday 12th May 2012, The Moonlight Memory Walk will take place in Nottingham to help raise much needed funds for the Nottinghamshire Hospice. The new 10km route will still begin and end at Nottingham Forest Football Club.
Walkers need to register their arrival for the walk between 6.00-7.30pm, and can then enjoy the pre-walk entertainment before a poignant balloon release prior to the start of the walk at 8pm.
This year’s theme is ‘Sparkle and Shine’ so walkers are encouraged to dress up as little or as much as they like to make the evening more special!
Gem Vending are delighted to be able to support the event for the second year by providing bottled water for the walkers during this event. In addition, we are also entering our own team to complete the walk called ‘Gems & Diamonds’. To sponsor our team, please take a look at our Just Giving page.
About the Hospice
Nottinghamshire Hospice is a local charity, which cares for people in Nottinghamshire who are living with a life limiting illness. The main aim of Nottinghamshire Hospice is to ensure the best possible palliative care for their patients and to give respite and support to their carers.
All services are free and offered regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin or religion. It costs approximately £2.5 million each year to run the Hospice, with just 30% of the costs being covered by the NHS. The balance, almost £1.8 million, they have to raise themselves.
Each year they care for over 600 people with a life limiting illness and their families through their Daycare facility and Hospice-at-Home service.
